Wood Futon Bunk Bed Plan From Woodworking4Home - Review

If you like to make your own home furniture, you should definitely check out the Woodworking4Home web site. The site was created by John Metz, who is a professional woodworker from Montana, USA.

The key feature of Woodworking4Home is the large collection of carpentry project plans in their database. If you want to build a piece of furniture for your home, you can find almost any blueprints there.

In this article, I will write a short review of the wood futon bunk bed plan from the membership site. The plan showcases a 2 in one design. It consists of a lower sofa seat at the bottom and a full size mattress bed on top.

At the top of the blueprint, there is a picture of the completed piece. This is useful because it provides a good visualization of the end result as you are making the bed.

The size of the wooden futon bed is 60" x 78" x 48". It is reasonable size which will fit quite well in any living room or bedroom. There are also 2 pins at the lower sofa set which can be removed and the back can be laid down to form a second full size mattress.

If you are short for space, the design is such that the whole structure can be disassembled in minutes. You can do so by removing a couple of bolts and nuts and the two ends will stay intact.

For quick and easy storage, the top part of the futon bed and the sofa set can be separated into 4 smaller pieces. This feature is great if you have limited space such a small studio apartment or a college student dormitory.

In general, the futon bed blueprint from Woodworking4Home is decent and easy to follow. If you have some carpentry experience, you can complete the whole construction in less than day.

  3. There are any number of factors that could make their way into your shopping criteria, but your first move in selecting a bed is to know what’s available. When considering beds, most of us think of the classic full over full metal bunk beds that is also popular for more grown-up consumers in college dorms and military barracks.
